Online Counseling for Substance Use

For adults and adolescents in Indiana

Reshape your relationship with alcohol or drugs.

  • Individual

Do you feel like someone who identifies as an alcoholic or an addict, someone who uses substances or binges on them, or someone who just “parties” too much? Maybe you’re ready to commit to full sobriety and want help in maintaining it, or maybe you simply want to feel more in control of your substance use.

The fact is, a healthy relationship with drugs and alcohol looks different for everyone, and substance use counseling can help you decide what’s right for you.

We’ll work together to address not only your day-to-day substance use but, more importantly, gain insight into the deeper motivations or coping mechanisms behind it. From there, we can map out what a healthier relationship with substances looks like and what steps you need to take to achieve that.

I treat addiction by meeting you where you are at, and coming up with a treatment plan that it tailored specifically to you and one you are comfortable with. I know how confusing the process of trying to reign in the use of substances can be, and understand that it is not as simple as it seems. I have relationships with the best addiction psychiatrists, sober livings, and residential and out patient treatment centers in Indiana, and can help with referrals to these if needed.

  • Adolescent

There are many variables as to why a teenager might develop substance use disorder. If you’re seeking drug treatment for your teen, we will explore the past and high risk factors to fully understand the cause for their behavior, help your teen resolve it, and move forward. Problem and preventative measures can be addressed throughout treatment and in individual and family therapy sessions as you work together to come to a healing place.

I can also provide parents one on one coaching if you would like tools and strategies to communicate with your teen and decrease the risks of developing substance use disorders. Prevention and education are key.

  • Family

Addiction if often called a family disease because it truly impacts the entire family unit and dynamic. Codependency issues grow when one person has an addiction but the other doesn’t. Substance use leads to a downward spiral of dysfunctional patterns that erode trust and prevent healing. When people with addiction live in blended families, the disease hinders the already challenging integration and stability.

There has long been a gap in the treatment of addiction with a lack of focus on treatment for the family unit. I am here to tell you there is hope and proven scientific strategies to use when supporting a loved one through active addiction or active recovery. The relationship and love you have built can foster positive growth and change. Studies have shown that family members with their own recovery program increases the chances of their loved one achieving long term sobriety. You and I will focus on your own healing, understanding, and communication to engage in the recovery process.

  • Adult Children of Alcoholics

Children who grew up in dysfunctional homes with drugs or alcohol present often experienced abuse, neglect and or trauma. These adverse childhood experiences (ACES) influence how the adult child deals with all aspects of their day to day lives.

I work with the client to provides a safe, nonjudgmental environment that allows them to grieve their childhood, identify and heal core trauma, experience freedom from shame and abandonment, and become their own loving parents. I utilize inner child and reparenting work to break cycles of generational trauma.
