Cheyann Peckinpaugh, MA

Therapist for substance use, trauma, anxiety & family recovery.

Am I the right therapist for you?

So much of what you are facing today is a result of what you have experienced in the past.

I am a therapist who specializes in helping you unpack those things: connecting your past and present in order to build a more fulfilling, authentic future.

I bring a real-life, practical, and straightforward approach to counseling. I’m comfortable getting uncomfortable if it means you see progress, and I don’t shy away from the hard parts of life.

I show up in therapy as a human, just like you, and I believe that no matter what choices we’ve made or things we’ve experienced, we’re not broken. We’re not bad. We are simply humans wanting to improve our lives.

With this as my foundation, I am able to approach each client as the individual that they are. I’m not set in my ways about what you do or don’t need. Rather, I believe it is my job to support you in helping you identify that for yourself.

Because at the end of the day, I’m not the expert on your life — you are.

I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients, and believe that is the basis for the work we do. I strive to be a therapist that is attuned, mindful, compassionate and non-judgmental. Starting therapy takes courage, and I honor your decision to start by reaching out to me. You are not alone.

What are therapy sessions like?

I offer therapy online to residents across Indiana. Online therapy takes place on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform — it is as simple as logging on from a private spot in your home or office.

Sessions are 50 minutes long. I work with most clients on a weekly basis to establish our trajectory and goals, then often move to biweekly as we progress.
